America's Cup Team Germany 

AC Team Germany brings together active sailors, organizers, and mentors from across the German sailing community to support two German teams in the 37th edition of the America's Cup in 2027 and lay the foundation for a long-term German commitment to the America's Cup.

In 2024, Germany will be represented by one team each in the UniCredit Youth and the Puig Women's America's Cup, which is being held for the first time. The goal is to be among the challengers for the oldest trophy in sailing with a German yacht at the subsequent 38th America's Cup.







Women's America's Cup

For the first time (2024) in the history of the America's Cup, there will be a women's only competition. As part of the Puig Women's America's Cup, ten international teams will compete for the coveted trophy on foiling AC 40 monohull yachts. The team manager of the German Women's America's Cup team is Carolina Werner, who competed in the Nacra 17 at the 2016 Olympic Games alongside Paul Kohlhoff. Her team includes Tina Lutz (silver medalist in the 49erFX in 2020) and Luise Wanser, world champion in the 470 in 2022.

Youth America's Cup

The UniCredit Youth America's Cup for selected young sailors between the ages of 18 and 25 is taking place for the third time in 2024. Like the women, the AC youngsters also sail on foiling AC 40 yachts, the smaller version of the AC 75 used for the Cup.
The Youth America's Cup offers ambitious, high-performance sailors from the German sailing squads, the Olympic environment, and the thriving foiling sailing classes a unique opportunity to gain experience at the highest level in a challenging international environment.

The foiling AC 40 yachts used for the Youth and Women's America's Cup will compete in their own racing series in the future, meaning that investment in these modern, high-tech boats is not only sustainable but also forward-looking for the development of German sailing in international comparison.
